Junior Taylor Cates participated in the College Station Multis Festival on Thursday but was forced to withdraw from the second day of competition because of an injury. She was in 12th place after the first day of competition but an ankle injury she had suffered earlier in the week in practice prevented her from finishing the competition.

On Saturday, the Sooners who had headed to Florida competed in the Hurricane Invitational. Sophomore Leslie Dunlap won the women's pole vault title with an NCAA provisional mark of 12-11.5. Junior Devon Brabham was OU's other winner, taking the triple jump title with a career-best jump of 48-2.75. It marked the first victory in Brabham's Sooner career.

The Sooner vaulters were dominant in the meet. In addition to Dunlap's title, freshman Lindsey Bourne finished third with an 11-5.75 and sophomore Jamie Lillie finished fifth with a 10-11.75. In the men's competition, Michael Westlund was third, Robin Hanna, who missed most of the indoor season with an injury, was sixth and Michael McNamara was seventh.
