AUSTIN, Texas - LaBoris Bean ran a 51.60 in the 400-meter intermediate hurdles and missed qualifying for the finals by .08 seconds as the OU track and field team opened competition in the 73rd Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays. Bean won the fifth heat of the hurdles but only the top nine times advanced. His time is the ninth best in school history.
The women's 3200-meter relay, made up of Angie Prescott, Aisha Stringer, Kelli O'Rourke and Alaina Dearman, finished fifth in the 3200-meter relay. OU ran a time of 9:09.53. Senior Mindy Mizell finished 19th in the 3000-meter run with a time of 11:01.67
Sandi Swaby finished sixth in her heat and 42nd overall in the women's 400-meter intermediate hurdles with a prelim time of 1:05.50. Jonas Lusk finished fifth in his heat and 31st overall in the prelims in the 400-meter intermediate hurdles with a time of 54.45. Joey Scott finished fourth in his heat and 14th overall in the prelims with a time of 52.01, a season best.
OU will have competitors in Friday and Saturday events at the Texas Relays while the remainder of the Sooner team will compete Friday at the UCO Invitational.
