NORMAN, Okla. -- Sande Swaby and Lindsay Cobbs are getting a jump on their Sooner teammates as the pair has traveled to College Station, Texas, to compete in the Texas A&M Multis. Swaby is entered in the heptathlon gold competition while Cobbs is entered in the heptathlon bronze event. There are 19 competitors in the heptathlon gold and 25 in the heptathlon bronze.
Swaby will begin competition at 4 p.m. today with the 100-meter hurdles. Other events to be contested today include the high jump, shot put and 200-meter dash. Cobbs will begin with the 100-meter hurdles at 1 p.m. followed by the high jump, shot put and 200-meter dash. Competition will continue on Friday with the heptathlon gold long jump at 1 p.m. followed by the javelin. The heptathlon bronze long jump will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday followed by the javelin at 12:05 p.m.
The rest of the Sooner track and field teams will open outdoor competition next weekend in Baton Rouge at the U.S. Track and Field Series. Joining OU and LSU in the field will be TCU and Texas A&M.
