Dayton Starts Pro Tenure With Florida Vibe

Outfielder Signed With Team in May
NORMAN – Oklahoma Softball senior outfielder Abby Dayton signed with the Florida Vibe ahead of their inaugural 2026 Professional Softball League (PSL) season. Dayton will make her debut against the Florida Breeze in their opening series at home beginning Friday, June 12 at 6:35 p.m.
The Vibe are also set to play the KC Royals and Atlanta Smoke, including a neutral site matchup in Seminole, Fla., against the Royals at the end of June. They will close their regular season with a special event series at Devon Park in Oklahoma City, Okla. from July 22-24.
Dayton, along with former Sooners Sydney Berzon, Isabela Emerling and Alynah Torres were also tabbed to the Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL) Reserve Pool and have the ability to be selected to any of the AUSL teams as needed throughout the remainder of that league's season.

Dayton totaled 216 career starts in 227 games with a .379 batting average and .483 on-base percentage, cumulating 106 RBIs, 164 runs and 215 hits. She had a breakout senior season at OU, hitting eight of her 13 career home runs with a .735 slugging percentage and a pair of grand slams.
She has earned four National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Region honors and was selected to the 2026 All-SEC Second Team. She spent two years at Utah before transferring to Oklahoma, where she made an immediate impact for the Utes and Sooners. At Utah she was awarded 2024 Pac-12 Batting Champion, two-time All-Pac-12 First Team and Pac-12 All-Freshman Team.
The outfielder has two Women's College World Series (WCWS) appearances with both Oklahoma and Utah. Her most notable performance was her game-tying two-run home run against Texas Tech's Nijaree Canady down 0-2 with two outs in the top of the seventh of the 2025 WCWS Semifinals.
