NORMAN – The No. 18 Oklahoma wrestling team returns to McCasland Field House on Sunday, Feb. 8, to close out the regular-season home slate against Arizona State. First bout is scheduled for 2 p.m. CT, with the dual streaming live on ESPN+.

Sunday's matchup serves as Senior Day, as the Sooners will honor nine seniors prior to the dual: Brian Soldano, Christian Forbes, DJ Parker, Eli Cordy, Jacob Zimmer, Juan Mora, Kaden Smith, Mannix Morgan and Peyten Kellar.

Fans can stick around for a hot dog eating contest sponsored by Conecuh during intermission.

LAST TIME OUT

Oklahoma split a challenging back-to-back weekend in Norman, falling to third-ranked Iowa State on Friday before responding with a statement win over No. 13 Northern Iowa on Saturday night.

Against the Cyclones, the Sooners battled late but were unable to recover from a slow start in a 29–10 defeat. Oklahoma quickly turned the page less than 24 hours later, outlasting Northern Iowa, 23–18, in a back-and-forth dual that wasn't decided until the final two bouts. The victory marked OU's second win this season over a top-15 opponent and snapped a two-dual losing streak.

Redshirt sophomore Carter Schubert continued his breakout season at 174 pounds, picking up two top-15 victories on the weekend. The eighth-ranked Schubert earned a 5-1 decision over Iowa State's No. 13 MJ Gaitan before edging No. 12 Jared Simma of Northern Iowa, 2-1. The wins served as Schubert's team-leading sixth and seventh victories over ranked opponents this season, and he has now won 12 of his last 13 bouts dating back to Nov. 23 against Indiana.

SERIES HISTORY

Since 2000, Oklahoma and Arizona State have met 16 times in dual competition, with the Sooners holding a 13–3 advantage in the series. OU has been strong both at home (5–1) and on the road (6–1) against the Sun Devils. In the most recent meeting, Oklahoma earned a 32–6 victory in Tempe on Feb. 16, 2025.

SOONERS IN THE RANKINGS

Oklahoma enters Sunday's dual ranked No. 18 nationally by the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA).

Seven Sooners appear in the latest individual rankings from InterMat, FloWrestling and Open Mat: Conrad Hendriksen (125), Tyler Wells (141), Peyten Kellar (165), Carter Schubert (174), Brian Soldano (184), DJ Parker (197) and Juan Mora (285).

RUNNING THE GAUNTLET

Oklahoma has positioned itself to face one of the nation's toughest schedules in 2025-26. Beyond its season-opening road contest at No. 1 and four-time defending national champion Penn State, the Sooners have eight duals scheduled against teams currently ranked in the NWCA Coaches' Top 25 — five of which will take place on the road. In total, OU will face three top-five opponents, six ranked inside the top 20 and nine in the top 25. The Sooners also competed at the prestigious Cliff Keen Invitational, widely regarded as the premier regularseason tournament in college wrestling.
