The Sooners boast a pair of signature top-15 wins this season, most recently topping No. 13 Northern Iowa at home, 23-18, on Jan. 31. Oklahoma's first signature win came Dec. 13, when the Sooners rallied from a 14-6 deficit to defeat No. 12 Rutgers, 19-14, at Jersey Mike's Arena in Piscataway, N.J. The victory marked the program's highest-ranked dual win since 2015.
Redshirt sophomoreĀ Carter Schubert enters Thursday riding a five-dual win streak. The eighth-ranked 174-pounder is in the midst of a breakout season, highlighted by a title at the Cliff Keen Invitational (Dec. 6). One of OU's longest running series by years will be renewed this weekend in Norman as the Sooners battle the Tigers. Oklahoma enters the weekend ranked No. 16 nationally by the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA). Ranked in the NWCA preseason top 25 for the third consecutive year, the Sooners earned their highest starting position since 2021 and have climbed as high as No. 15 this season.
