Clark Tallies Brace in OU Debut

NORMAN — Oklahoma Soccer (1-0) produced three goals in just over 15 minutes to start the second half as the Sooners dispatched Creighton (0-1), 4-1, in the 2025 season opener Thursday, August 14 from John Crain Field.

OU 4, Creighton 1
The Sooners put the pressure on early, posting three shots and two on goal in the first nine minutes. OU broke through via a corner kick in the 11th minute as Lexi Dendis served a pass into the box that Naomi Clark headed in for the lead.

Creighton got the equalizer following a rebound on a shot as Jalen Chaney grabbed the loose ball and found the back of the net.

Heading into the break even, 1-1, OU unleashed a barrage of goals to put the game out of reach.

Dendis was on the scoring end of OU's goal this time, notching the eventual game winning following a through ball from Alexis Washington and a cross from Hadley Murrell. Three minutes later Clark asserted herself through the backline, setting up a shot that was saved and quickly gathered by her as she put the ball into the vacated net.

Up 3-1, OU got more insurance, this time from Claire Curran. Drue Legan played a long ball into the attacking third that Kayla Keefer headed towards Curran. Curran gathered the ball and hooked it into the goal for the 4-1 lead.
