Sam Landry were named to the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year Top 25 List as announced Wednesday, April 30.
Pickering and Landry are two of 12 finalists from the SEC to appear on the list. The top 25 list is narrowed down to 10 on May 14 and eventually a final three on May 19. The USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year will be announced ahead of the Women's College World Series.
A sophomore from Humble, Texas, Pickering is hitting .431 (53-for-123) with 13 home runs, 44 RBIs, 12 doubles and 44 walks in 47 starts in the outfield. Pickering has already surpassed her statistical totals from all of last year in runs, doubles, home runs and walks.
The 2025 Preseason All-SEC selection tallied a career best 16-game hitting streak between March 15 and April 13, while also reaching safely in 15-straight plate appearances during that span. March 4 she was tabbed Softball America Star of the Week after hitting .467 with 12 RBIs, six walks, six runs and four home runs.
A senior out of Mont Belvieu, Texas, Landry is 17-3 with 1.95 ERA, four saves, 136 strikeouts and 129.1 innings of work over 26 appearances. She currently leads all active pitchers in the nations in career wins after three seasons at Louisiana.
Landry was named SEC Pitcher of the Week three times, being honored Feb. 17, March 18 and March 25. She has turned in a career record 13 complete games this season, while also posting a perfect game at No. 23/24 Baylor Feb. 16.
The No. 1/1 Sooners wrap up the regular season at No. 7/9 Florida Thursday, May 1 through Saturday, May 3. Games one and two will be available on SEC Network, while the finale is set for ESPN2.
