Spun Two Complete Games at Missouri
NORMAN — After going 2-0 with 13 strikeouts and only one earned run across 12 innings, right-handed pitcher Sam Landry was named SEC Pitcher of the Week as announced by the conference Tuesday, March 25. Landry has earned the award in consecutive weeks and for the third time this season.
Landry earned complete game wins in both of her appearances at Missouri, spinning a five-inning shutout Friday and a seven-inning complete game Sunday to clinch the series.
The Mont Belvieu, Texas, native struck out nine batters in Sunday's 5-1 win, scattering four hits while not walking a batter. The righty is 9-0 with a 1.04 earned run average, three saves a .168 opponents' batting average and 82 strikeouts.
Landry ranks fifth in the nation in strikeout-to-walk ratio (11.71), third in WHIP (0.71) and tenth in ERA (1.04).
The Sooners head to Wichita State Wednesday, March 26 for a 6 p.m. first pitch. The game will be streamed on ESPN+ and a radio broadcast will be available on the Franchise 2 (1560 AM and 103.3FM). Live stats will be available via Statbroadcast.com.
