Berzon Adds to Nation-Leading List of Sooner Alumnae Competing in AUSL

NORMAN – Oklahoma Softball outfielder Abby Dayton and pitcher Sydney Berzon are set to start their professional tenures this weekend in Bradenton, Fla., and Durham, N.C., respectively.

Dayton signed with the Florida Vibe in May ahead of their inaugural 2026 Professional Softball League (PSL) season. Berzon was called up from the Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL) Reserve Pool by the Texas Volts on Thursday, June 11.

Dayton is expected to make her debut against the Florida Breeze in their opening series at home this weekend. Like Berzon, Dayton was also selected to the AUSL Reserve Pool and has the opportunity to be called up if necessary.

Dayton and the Vibe will close their regular season with a special event series at Devon Park in Oklahoma City, Okla. from July 22-24. Additional information for postseason play will be announced at a later date. PSL game results can be found here.

Berzon will join Sooner alumnae Rylie Boone and Tiare Jennings as the Volts begin their series against the Carolina Blaze on Saturday, June 13 at 11 a.m. CT. The Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL) season will be available to watch on ESPN Networks, MLB Network, MLB.com, MLB.TV and the MLB app throughout the summer.

Sydney Berzon (Texas Volts)
Berzon, a transfer from LSU, came to OU for her senior season as a three-time SEC All-Team, three-time All-Region Team and two-time NFCA All-American selection. In her career, she totaled a 2.08 ERA with 452 strikeouts in 547.2 innings.

This season she earned two impressive SEC wins versus Texas A&M and Kentucky, where she spun five scoreless against the Aggies and had four hitless innings against the Wildcats.
