NORMAN — No. 7 Oklahoma men's golf looks to return to the win column this week at the Valspar Collegiate, a 54-hole event held at Floridian National Golf Club in Palm City, Fla. The two-day, five-count-four tournament tees off Monday morning.

The Sooners are one of 14 top-50 teams in the field and one of 11 ranked inside the nation's top 25. Half of the top 10 teams in the country will battle for the team title. Oklahoma finished fifth at last year's event, carding an even-par 852 at the par-71 course.

Head coach Ryan Hybl — the program's all-time wins leader — has guided the Sooners to 13 consecutive NCAA Finals appearances, a national championship in 2017 and three Big 12 titles since taking over in 2009. With 47 tournament wins, Hybl ranks fourth among active coaches and has mentored 14 Sooners to 30 All-America honors. The 2022 Dave Williams National Coach of the Year, Hybl was inducted into the Golf Coaches Association of America Hall of Fame in 2024.

This past fall, the Sooners captured three team victories and posted a 61-5-1 record, finishing third in the only two events they didn't win. Oklahoma led the country in total wins, securing titles at the Valero Texas Collegiate, Ben Hogan Collegiate and Ka'anapali Classic. This spring, the team has earned back-to-back fifth-place finishes before a tough finish in its latest tournament and looks to regain momentum in Palm City.

Hybl's lineup in Florida features Jase Summy, Drew Goodman, Ryder Cowan, Clark Van Gaalen and Matthew Troutman — the same five who led Oklahoma to victory at the Ka'anapali Classic to close the fall season.
