Men's Golf Heads to Vegas for Southern Highlands Collegiate
March 01, 2025 | Men's Golf
NORMAN — No. 4 Oklahoma men's golf opens March at the Southern Highlands Collegiate in Las Vegas. The 54-hole tournament spans three days, opening on Sunday morning as the Sooners tee off against nine teams inside the nation's top 30, including two in the top 10.
The Sooners won the event last season and in 2022. Last year, OU led after 36 holes but had to rally down the stretch to hold off No. 2 Auburn and return to the winner's circle. Jase Summy finished as the runner-up, while Drew Goodman finished sixth. The 15th-ranked Sooners knocked off seven top-25 teams to win at Southern Highlands, including three of the top five.
During the fall season, Oklahoma secured three team victories and posted a 61-5-1 record, finishing third in the only two events it didn't win. The Sooners' 61 wins led the nation, as head coach Ryan Hybl's squad claimed titles at the Valero Texas Collegiate, Ben Hogan Collegiate, and Ka'anapali Classic. Oklahoma opened the spring with a fifth-place finish at the Puerto Rico Classic.
Head coach Ryan Hybl's lineup features Ryder Cowan, Jase Summy, freshman Cameron Cheek, Drew Goodman, Matthew Troutman and Asher Whitaker (unattached).
Live scoring will be available on Clippd.
