NORMAN — The Oklahoma men's golf team returns to action on Monday at the Ben Hogan Collegiate, held at the prestigious Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas. The eighth-ranked Sooners will begin the 54-hole event with a shotgun start, playing 36 holes on Monday and wrapping up with 18 holes on Tuesday to crown a champion.

In their most recent outing, the Sooners staged a final-round rally to claim victory at the Valero Texas Collegiate, finishing six strokes ahead of the competition. In the process, OU outperformed six top-25 teams, including four in the top 10. The win was the 45th under 16th-year head coach Ryan Hybl.

The nation's premier field of the week features fifteen teams, 12 of which are ranked in the top 25, including half of the top 10 in the Bushnell/Golfweek Division I Coaches Poll.

Oklahoma's lineup remains unchanged from their winning formula at the Valero Texas Collegiate. It features preseason All-Americans Drew Goodman and Jase Summy, both of whom secured top-10 finishes in San Antonio. PJ Maybank III and Matthew Troutman return to the heart of the lineup after tying for 19th at TPC San Antonio, while Ryder Cowan completes the Sooner squad.

Live scoring will be available on Golfstat.

THE COURSE

Opened in 1936, Colonial Country Club has hosted the Colonial National Invitation (Charles Schwab Challenge) on the PGA Tour since 1946, the longest running non-major event on TOUR. Designed by John Bredemus and Perry Maxwell of Oklahoma, the par-70 course has also hosted a U.S. Open (1941), a Players Championship (1975) and a U.S. Women's Open (1991).

HISTORY

In 2023, Oklahoma finished fifth at the event, which featured 12 top-20 teams. Drew Goodman, who tied for fifth, is the only Sooner from last year's Hogan lineup competing this week at Colonial. Due to renovations, last year's tournament was held at Shady Oaks Country Club. In 2022, the last time the event was held at Colonial, Jase Summy finished tied for 27th, and Goodman placed 60th. The Sooners have appeared in the previous four editions of the tournament, winning at Colonial in 2021 and finishing as runners-up in 2020.

TEE TIMES AND PAIRINGS

Teams will open with a shotgun start on Monday at 8:15 a.m. CT for a 36-hole day.
