BATON ROUGE, La. — The University of Oklahoma soccer team dropped a 3-1 result to LSU on the road in Baton Rouge Thursday evening.
Oklahoma (8-3-0, 1-2-0 SEC) out-shot LSU (7-3-1, 2-1-0 SEC) by an 11-6 margin but placed just three of its shots on frame. The Sooners limited LSU's attack to four shots on target and surrendered only two corner kicks.
LSU scored its first goal on a counterattack in the 41st minute, creating a breakaway as its striker generated an unmarked chance in the goal area. The Tigers added its second on a strong individual effort in the 56th minute.
The Sooners cut their deficit to one thanks to an LSU own goal in the 72nd minute as a defender sent the ball in while trying to pass back to the Tiger goalkeeper.
LSU stretched its lead to 3-1 in the 79th minute, drawing a penalty kick and converting on the opportunity.

Sophia Green each provided two shots to lead the team with Weber placing both of hers on target.
