Soccer Meets Oral Roberts Sunday

Sunday's match features halftime corgi race
OU was handed the first loss of the season in Stillwater Thursday. The Sooner defense has impressed through their opening three contests, limiting opponents to just 5.33 shots per match. Goalkeeper Caroline Duffy owns a 83.3% save rate while the group of Meredith King, Cassie Clifton, Cailey England and Andie Wolfe have logged 97.4% of the available backline minutes.

The match features a "Pups at the Pitch" theme, encouraging fans to bring their dogs to John Crain Field. A corgi race will be held at halftime. Tickets are available for purchase here. Sunday's match will be broadcast on SEC Network+.
SEASON STORYLINES
• 2024 Outlook: The Sooners were selected 13th in the 2024 SEC Preseason Coaches' Poll, sharing the rank with Florida. Five athletes were named to the SEC Preseason Watchlist as forwards Hadley Murrell, Alexis Washington and Leonie Weber, midfielder Cailey England and defender Andie Wolfe earned league recognition.
• All About Oklahoma: OU produced an 8-10-2 mark in year one of the Matt Mott era, earning 11 points in conference play (3-5-2) to finish tied for ninth in the Big 12 table. Oklahoma returns 14 letterwinners from last season including seven starting outfielders. The Sooners added seven freshmen and eight transfers during the offseason including United Soccer Coaches all-region honorees Sophia Green (Omaha), Abigail McNulty (Boston University) and Morgan O'Connor (Ole Miss - UCF).
• Historic Helper: Alexis Washington is is three assists away from moving into a tie for Oklahoma's program record of 18 held by Lauren MacIver.
• OU x SEC: OU Soccer embarks on its inaugural season in the SEC this fall and will enjoy the honor of playing Oklahoma's first regular season event as a league member (Aug. 15 at North Texas) as well as the university's first SEC league game (Sept. 19 vs. Mississippi State).
UP NEXT
The Sooners will be on a bye next week, returning to action Thursday, Sept. 5, with a home match against Stetson at 7 p.m. The contest will be broadcast on SEC Network+.
