NORMAN – The Oklahoma women's basketball team's inaugural Southeastern Conference (SEC) schedule was unveiled Wednesday by the league office, confirming dates for all 16 of the Sooners' conference games.
For the 16th consecutive season, the SEC women's basketball schedule includes 16 games. Teams will play a single round-robin of 14 home or away games, along with one rotating opponent played both at home and on the road, for a total of 16 matchups.
Under the guidance of fourth-year head coach Jennie Baranczyk, the Sooners open SEC play at home on Jan. 2 when Texas comes to the Lloyd Noble Center.
OU's seven remaining home contests occur on Jan. 12 vs. Texas A&M, Jan. 16 vs. Missouri, Jan. 26 vs. Georgia, Feb. 2 vs. Kentucky, Feb. 10 vs. Auburn, Feb. 20 vs. Vanderbilt and March 2 vs. Alabama.
Oklahoma's first SEC road trip is set for Jan. 5 at Tennessee, the Sooners' first trek to Knoxville since 2010. Baranczyk's team will also hit the road for games on Jan. 9 at Mississippi State, Jan. 19 at defending national champion South Carolina, Jan. 30 at LSU, Feb. 6 at Ole Miss, Feb. 16 at Missouri, Feb. 23 at Arkansas and Feb. 27 at Florida.
The regular season will conclude with the 2025 SEC Women's Basketball Tournament, scheduled for March 5-9 at Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, S.C., with all 16 conference teams participating.
The Sooners return over 95% of their scoring, rebounding and assists from last year's Big 12 Championship team. In addition, Baranczyk has added two top-75 freshmen in Zya Vann and Caya Smith, as well as the nation's No. 1 transfer, All-American center Raegan Beers. Skylar Vann, the 2024 Big 12 Co-Player of the Year, and Payton Verhulst, who was named the Big 12's 2024 Newcomer of the Year, will look to guide the Sooners to their fourth straight NCAA Tournament.
In her three years at Oklahoma, Baranczyk owns a 4-1 record vs. SEC competition, including a top-15 win at Ole Miss last season. Since 2000, OU is 58-36 vs. SEC opponents.
A full list of tip-off times and broadcast information will be announced at a later date. Oklahoma's full non-conference slate will be unveiled in the coming weeks.
