Raegan Beers was named to the John R. Wooden Award final ballot, the Los Angeles Athletic Club announced Sunday. The award recognizes the nation's best college basketball player.
Beers is one of 15 players selected to the ballot by the Wooden Award National Advisory Board and is eligible for the Wooden Award All-America Team and the Wooden Award Trophy, given annually to the most outstanding women's college basketball player in the United States.
The selection marks the first of Beers' career, and she becomes the first Sooner named a Wooden Award finalist since Courtney Paris, who was a four-time finalist from 2006-09.
A first-team All-SEC selection for the second consecutive season, Beers is averaging 15.7 points on an SEC-best 61.5% shooting, along with 10.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. The senior is the only player on the Wooden Award ballot, and one of just two players nationally, averaging at least 15.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per contest.
A top-10 finalist for the Lisa Leslie Center of the Year Award, Beers scored in double figures in 14 of Oklahoma's 16 conference games this season. Her 20 double-doubles rank sixth nationally and are the fifth-most in a single season in program history, trailing only Courtney Paris' four seasons at Oklahoma.
Beers is also the only active Division I player with 2,000 career points and 1,200 rebounds.
Voting for the 2026 John R. Wooden Award All-America Team presented by Principal will open March 16 at 6 a.m. ET and close March 28 at 11:59 p.m. ET. Voters will evaluate each candidate's full body of work, including performances in the opening rounds of the NCAA Tournament.
The Wooden Award Men's and Women's All-America Teams, along with the top five finalists for the Wooden Award Trophy, will be announced April 4 during the Men's Final Four.
Oklahoma is currently projected to host first- and second-round NCAA Tournament games as a potential top-16 seed. The NCAA Tournament bracket will be revealed Sunday, March 15.
