Richmore Earns First Team All-America Honor to Close 2023-24 Season

EUGENE, Ore. – The University of Oklahoma track and field team concluded the 2023-24 season at the NCAA Outdoor Championships held at Hayward Field on Saturday. Angel Richmore competed in the final three events of the heptathlon, posting two personal records en route to a fifth-place finish for First Team All-America honors.
Two Oklahoma women, Olivia Lueking and Angel Richmore added points to the overall team score that totaled 4.5 at the end of day four. The women's squad concluded the championships in 44th place.
In her first event of the day, long jump, Richmore recorded an all-conditions outdoor personal record of 5.96m (19'6.75") for 10th in the field and 837 points. Next, she threw a mark of 37.94m (124'6") in the javelin, adding 628 points to her score and finishing 10th overall.
Going into her final event, Richmore was ranked seventh with 5,063 points. In the 800-meter run, she clocked a career-best time of 2:21.31 for 806 points. Richmore would finish the event with a total of 5,869 points, positioning her in fifth place.
Her final score, 5,869, is a career high that improves her position at No. 2 in Oklahoma history and is the third-best performance in her home country, Sweden, so far this year.
OU T&F close out the NCAA Outdoor Championships with five First Team All-America honors, three second team awards and two honorable mentions.
