Five Sooners Earn Academic All-District Honors

May 28, 2024 | Softball

NORMAN – Five University of Oklahoma softball student-athletes have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District team, the CSC announced Tuesday.

Graduate pitchers Kelly Maxwell and Karlie Keeney, senior pitcher Nicole May and senior position players Alyssa Brito and Rylie Boone each earned Academic All-District status. Maxwell, Brito and Boone each advanced to the Academic All-America ballot.

The 2023-24 Academic All-District Softball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Oklahoma's five all-district honorees match its program high set last season and increases its all-time total to 38 recipients. A whopping 21 Sooners have earned Academic All-America laurels including 20 under head coach Patty Gasso.
