NORMAN - Oklahoma head track and field/cross country coach
James Thomas announced the Sooners' 2025 schedule Monday evening.
"We are excited to start our first year in the SEC with a schedule that enables our team to compete against the best in our sport," commented Thomas. "While long travel and missed school can pose challenges, I believe we can take advantage of the excellent regional facilities, elite competition and Sooner magic right here in Norman to achieve our goals athletically and academically."
The Sooners are set to host the Owen Hewett Invitational at the Mosier Indoor Facility in Norman on Jan. 17 to open the indoor season.
Next, the team heads to Lubbock, Texas, for the Red Raider Invitational on Jan. 24.
Oklahoma will host the 23rd annual JD Martin Invitational on Jan. 31 in Norman. Meanwhile, the combined events crew will travel to Manhattan, Kan., for the Deloss Dodds Invitational on Jan. 30-31.
T&F will spend the rest of the indoor season on the road, traveling to Manhattan, Kan., for the Steve Miller Invitational on Feb. 7, and Fayetteville, Ark., for the Tyson Invitational on Feb. 14-15 and the Arkansas Last Chance on Feb. 22.
The Crimson and Cream will begin the postseason at the SEC Track & Field Indoor Championship in College Station, Texas, from Feb. 27-March 1.
Athletes who qualify for the NCAA Indoor Championships will conclude the season in Virginia Beach, Va., March 14-15.
Oklahoma opens the outdoor season on the road, traveling to Fort Worth, Texas, for the TCU Alumni Invitational on March 21-22 and Austin, Texas, March 27-29 for Texas Relays.
OU T&F will host the John Jacobs Invitational on April 4 at the John Jacobs Track & Field Complex in Norman.
Next, the team splits up when combined events compete at Mt. SAC Relays on April 16-17 in Walnut, Calif., a small distance group will compete in Azuza, Calif., April 16-18 at the Byran Clay Invitational, Ā while the rest of the team is set for the Michael Johnson Invitational in Waco, Texas, April 18-19. The Sooners will wrap up the regular season in Fort Worth, Texas, at the Horned Frog Invitational on May 3.
Oklahoma begins its postseason campaign at the SEC Track & Field Outdoor Championship hosted by the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Ky., from May 15-17.
Athletes who post top-46 marks/times in NCAA Division I will qualify for the NCAA West First Round in College Station, Texas, May 28-31.
T&F will conclude the outdoor season at the NCAA Championships on June 11-14 in Eugene, Ore.
