Rowing Begins Postseason at Big 12 Championship in Austin

NORMAN - The Sooners set for the postseason and travel to Austin, Texas for the Big 12 Championship on Sunday, May 14.
Sunday's regatta will be held on Lake Walter E. Long starting at 8:30 a.m. CT. Oklahoma has six boats slated for the championship and will hit the water sequentially, concluding with the awards presentation.
The Sooners are joined in Austin by fellow conference members Kansas, Kansas State, No. 2 Texas, West Virginia and conference affiliate programs Alabama and Tennessee.
Teams will run five races for scoring to determine the conference champion. The Sooners last won the conference title in 2014 when they took their second straight championship and qualified for the NCAA Championship.
OU will also compete in the third varsity four exhibition race that will kick off the day.
The entire slate of events will be streamed on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.

LAST TIME OUT
- Oklahoma secured five top three finishes at the Lake Wheeler Invite in Raleigh, N.C. This was the team's second consecutive appearance at the Invitational.
- The Sooners' first varsity eight clinched third place with a time of 6:33.1, 1.6 seconds ahead of conference rival Tennessee.
- OU's second varsity eight also secured third place in the second session of the Invite. Oklahoma notched a time of 7:21.8 in a four-way race against Navy, UCF and Georgetown.
- In a race between Washington State, Miami, Boston College and Clemson, the Sooners' first varsity four breeze past their opponents to pull off a second place victory. Oklahoma's was only 10.2 seconds short of No. 19 Iowa in the end.
