Men's Hoops Hosts Texas Tech on Tuesday

NORMAN – Oklahoma men's basketball hosts Texas Tech on Tuesday, Feb. 21. Tip is at 8 p.m. inside Lloyd Noble Center.
Tuesday's game against the Red Raiders will be broadcast on ESPN2 with Mark Neely and Jess Settles on the call. Fans may also listen on the Sooner Sports Radio Network (KRXO 107.7 FM The Franchise in Oklahoma City; KTBZ 1430 AM in Tulsa; Varsity Radio App) with Toby Rowland and Kevin Henry announcing.
In Oklahoma's last outing, the Sooners battled to the final possession against No. 6/5 Texas. Grant Sherfield recorded a team-high 18 points on 7-of-16 shooting. The Fort Worth, Texas product, buried a team-best four 3-pointers and dished out three assists. Milos Uzan scored 15 points and added four assists, two steals and two rebounds. Joe Bamisile added 13 points on 4-of-5 shooting and Sam Godwin tallied 12 points on 4-of-6 shooting off the bench. Jalen Hill recorded 11 points, six rebounds, four assists and three steals.
SCOUTING THE RED RAIDERS
Mark Adams is in his second season as Texas Tech head men's basketball coach and he has guided the Red Raiders to a 15-12 record and 4-10 mark in conference play this season. After opening the Big 12 slate with eight losses, TTU is 4-2 in its last six league games and enters the Tuesday clash on three-game winning streak. The Red Raiders topped West Virginia 78-72 on Saturday, Feb. 18.
Kevin Obanor averages a team-high 14.8 points and shots 49.6% (131-264) from the field and 34.0% (36-106) from deep. Obanor adds 6.4 rebounds per contest. De'Vion Harmon averages 13.7 points and a team-best 3.5 assists and 1.7 steals per game. Pop Isaacs adds 11.8 points and 2.7 assists per contest. Jaylon Tyson rounds out the group of double-digit scorers and averages 10.8 points and. 5.9 rebounds per game. Obanor and Harmon have started all 27 games.
Texas Tech is ranked in the top 60 in three NCAA DI categories. TTU is 50th in turnovers forced per game (14.8), 52nd in steals per game (8.0) and 58th in free throw attempts per game (20.6). The Red Raiders lead the conference in fouls per game (15.7).
LAST MEETING: TEXAS TECH
Oklahoma earned a 68-63 overtime victory at Texas Tech on Saturday, Jan. 7 at United Supermarkets Arena. The Sooners' victory was the first in Lubbock against the Red Raiders since 2015.
The Sooners were paced by Jalen Hill and Milos Uzan, who tallied 18 points apiece. Hill finished 7 of 15 from the field and added nine rebounds and a block. Uzan recorded a career high in points and went 7 of 10 from the floor. Grant Sherfield reached double-digit points for the 14th time this season and added 11 points, five rebounds and four assists.
Oklahoma shot 41.5% (27-65) from the field, 33.3% (9-27) from three and 83.3% (5-6) from the free throw line. The Sooners limited Texas Tech to two 3-pointers on 18 attempts and clamped down on defense in overtime, limiting the Red Raiders to 1-of-7 shooting.

Oklahoma is ranked in the top 60 in two NCAA Division I categories. OU is 24th in 3-point percentage defense (30.1%) and 51st in field goal percentage (47.0%). The Sooners are second in the conference in effective field goal percentage (53.4%) and 3-point percentage defense. OU is third in 3-point percentage (35.5%), defensive rebounds per game (25.5) and fouls per game (16.4).
Grant Sherfield is 22nd nationally in 3-point percentage (42.3%) and 44th in free throw percentage (86.4). Sherfield is first in the league in 3-pointers made (71) and ranks second in 3-pointers per game (2.6), field goal attempts (358), 3-point percentage and free throw percentage. The Fort Worth, Texas product is third in 3-point attempts (159), fourth in field goals (153) and fourth in minutes per game (33:39). Jalen Hill is fifth in the league in free throw percentage (83.1%). Tanner Groves is 84th in the nation and fourth in the league in defensive rebounds per game (5.8).
Sherfield is 27th among active NCAA Division I career leaders in scoring average (15.4), 27th in assists (516), 29th in assist average (4.65) and 36th in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.84). Sherfield is one of 17 active DI players with 1,600-plus points and 500-plus assists. Groves is 80th in career rebounds (725) and 100th in games played (144).
