Men's Hoops Falls To Texas Tech

NORMAN – Oklahoma men's basketball fell to Texas Tech 74-63 Tuesday night at Lloyd Noble Center.
Tanner Groves recorded a team-best 16 points on 5-of-7 shooting. Groves tallied a pair of 3-pointers and added six rebounds and two steals. Fellow frontcourt starter Jalen Hill recorded 14 points, four rebounds, a team-best four assists and two steals. Milos Uzan and Grant Sherfield added 10 points apiece.
Down 58-51 after a four-point Texas Tech spurt, Groves buried his second 3-pointer of the night. Jaylon Tyson drove through the lane for a layup to bring the TTU advantage back to six with 5:46 left. Uzan found his way to the line and buried his only two free throw attempts and Tech's Fardaws Aimaq, who scored a team-high 19 points, put the Red Raiders back up six. Joe Bamisile buried a corner three to cut the TTU advantage to 62-59 with 3:47 left.
Texas Tech's Kevin Obanor tallied back-to-back baskets in a 40 second stretch and ended the scoring spurt with an emphatic dunk. Hill drove to the lane to lay in the tough two and completed the 3-point play at the line.
The Red Raiders finished the final two minutes on an 8-1 run.
