NORMAN — The Oklahoma men's basketball team will play a pair of exhibition contests during a six-day (Aug. 1-6) trip to San Juan, P.R. The Sooners will face two separate Puerto Rican all-star teams assembled by former NBA player Carlos Arroyo, with games scheduled for Monday, Aug. 3 and Wednesday, Aug. 5 at Roberto Clemente Coliseum.
"We're excited about the opportunity to take our team to Puerto Rico," said head coach
Porter Moser, who is starting his sixth season at OU. "This trip will allow our players to compete against quality opponents, build chemistry and experience the culture of San Juan together. The additional practices and games will be valuable as we continue preparing for the upcoming season."
The Sooners, who will also host a youth basketball clinic during the trip, return four letterwinners from 2025-26, including double-figure scorers and preseason All-SEC candidates
Xzayvier Brown (15.6 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 3.3 apg, 62 3FG) and
Derrion Reid (11.7 ppg, 4.4 rpg, .509 FG pct.).
The tour was organized by Complete Sports Management, a full-service sports events and marketing agency that develops and manages sporting events worldwide while creating sponsorship and hospitality opportunities.
