FROM LAST SEASON
Oklahoma had the third highest NET strength of schedule in 2022-23 and was only behind conference foes Kansas and Iowa State. The Sooners played 20 quadrant one games and finished 13-2 in games against quadrant 2-4 competition, including a 6-1 mark in quadrant two. Oklahoma finished last season ranked in the top 100 in four NCAA Division I categories. OU was 47th in 3-point percentage defense (31.2%), 94th in field goal percentage (45.8%), 94th in effective field goal percentage (52.4%) and 95th in scoring defense (67.5 PPG).
The Sooners earned four AP Top-25 victories in 2022-23, including wins over No. 2 Alabama, No. 12 Kansas State, No. 22 TCU and No. 23 Iowa State. Oklahoma's 93-69 victory against the Crimson Tide was the Sooners' first win over an AP top-two team since the Sooners knocked off No. 1 Kansas in the 2002 Big 12 Tournament. The 24-point victory margin was the largest in program history against an AP top-five team and it was the third-largest victory margin by an unranked team against an AP top-two team.
