NORMAN — The University of Oklahoma men's basketball program announced its full 2026-27 schedule Monday, a slate highlighted by home games against five teams (No. 6 Tennessee, No. 7 Texas, No. 17 Kentucky, No. 20 Vanderbilt and No. 21 Missouri) in ESPN's summer top-25 ranking, and five more contests away from home versus ranked opponents.
Oklahoma will play a 32-game regular season that features 18 home contests, 10 true road outings and four marquee neutral-site games, including one in Oklahoma City and one in Tulsa. The Sooners' schedule also features 15 games against 2026 NCAA Tournament teams.
OU, which is starting year six under head coach
Porter Moser, begins the season with five home games, including the Nov. 2 opener against East Texas A&M. The Sooners' opening home stand also includes matchups vs. Mississippi Valley State (Nov. 6), North Alabama (Nov. 9), Fairleigh Dickinson (Nov. 13) and Campbell (Nov. 18).
Oklahoma heads to Florida during Thanksgiving week to play a pair of power conference opponents in Pitt (Nov. 24) and Purdue (Nov. 26; Thanksgiving Day) at the Fort Myers Tip-Off. Pitt is led by former OU head coach Jeff Capel, while the Boilermakers won 30 games last season.
The Sooners' string of high-level opponents continues Dec. 1 when they welcome Syracuse to Lloyd Noble Center for an SEC/ACC Challenge matchup before facing Arizona State (Dec. 5) in a neutral-site contest at BOK Center in Tulsa.
Following a home tilt against Alabama State (Dec. 7), Oklahoma faces Oklahoma State in a Bedlam matchup on Saturday, Dec. 12 at Paycom Center in Oklahoma City. The Sooners have won each of the past four meetings against the Cowboys and lead the all-time series, 145-106.
OU closes December and non-conference play with a pair of home games against Jackson State (Dec. 17) and ULM (Dec. 28) that are sandwiched around a road trip to SMU (Dec. 22).
In Southeastern Conference play, each team plays the other 15 schools at least once, with three opponents played twice. For OU, the home-and-away opponents this coming season are Georgia, Missouri and Texas.
Weekend dates for OU's 2027 SEC schedule have been finalized, while the Sooners' midweek contests have been narrowed to Tuesday or Wednesday dates and will be revealed by the conference office later. Tip times and TV/streaming designations have also yet to be announced.
Oklahoma opens SEC play Saturday, Jan. 2 against Kentucky in the first of five Saturday home contests in league action. The Sooners also host Mississippi State (Jan. 9), South Carolina (Jan. 30), LSU (Feb. 13), and Texas (Feb. 20) in weekend tilts.
OU's midweek opponents at Lloyd Noble Center are Missouri (Jan. 19 or 20), Tennessee (Feb. 9 or 10), Georgia (Feb. 23 or 24) and Vanderbilt (March 2 or 3).
The Sooners' five Saturday road contests in conference play are at Texas (Jan. 16), at Alabama (Jan. 23), at Auburn (Feb. 6), at Ole Miss (Feb. 27) and in the regular season finale at Arkansas (March 6).
The remainder of the SEC road slate features trips to Florida (Jan. 5 or 6), Georgia (Jan. 12 or 13), Texas A&M (Feb. 2 or 3) and Missouri (Feb. 16 or 17).
The SEC Tournament (March 10-14) will be played at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena for the fifth consecutive year.
