AUSTIN, Texas – Maria Pergouli and Breah McKay earned All-Big 12 honors and the Oklahoma rowing team finished in fourth at the 2022 Big 12 Rowing Championship on Walter E. Long Lake on Sunday morning.

Both Mckay and Pergouli picked up their third career All-Big 12 awards. It is the third in a row for McKay. Pergouli had previously won back to back in 2018 and 2019.

The team ends the day in fourth after a bronze medal race from the second varisty four and pairs of fourth and sixth place finishes in the four other events.

Led by senior coxswain Sydney Pino, the second four built on what has been an impressive season for the group by taking third place with a 08:10.047 2000 meters. Pino and company have amassed a first, two second, and four third place finishes on the year.

Mckay and Pergouli powered the first eight through choppy waters to fourth in the final race of the day with a time of 06:59.665, holding off a late push from the Kansas boat. The first four also took fourth, coming up just short on a final 500 meter rally for third.

Both the third eight and the second eight crews took sixth in their events.

Texas earned the Big 12s auto bid to the NCAA Championships with 84 points in the qualifying races. Oklahoma and the other Big 12 squads will have to earn an at-large selection if they are to book a trip to Sarasota, Fla. The selection show will be on Tuesday, May 17 at 4 p.m. CT on NCAA.com.
