NORMAN-Ā The Oklahoma wrestling team is set to host its annual Crimson & Cream Dual this Saturday at McCasland Field House. The dual beginsĀ at 11 a.m.Ā with the final round estimated toĀ start at 2 p.m.
Admission to the event is free. The scrimmage will showcase 22 bouts and the Sooners will be split into two teams.
Ranked No. 25Ā in the preseason poll, the Sooners return to the mat with six of their 2022 NCAA qualifiers in graduate students Tony Madrigal and Joey Prata, redshirt seniors Jacob Butler and Keegan Moore, redshirt junior Josh Heindselman, and redshirt sophomore Willie McDougald. McDougald was the 2022 Big 12 149-pound runner-up and logged a 2-2 record at his first trip to the NCAA Championships.
In the offseason, head coach Lou Rosselli added 12 newcomers to the roster, including one of the top redshirt freshmen in the transfer portal in Wyatt Henson. Henson joins the Sooners after garnering a 7-2 record (18-2 including non-Division 1 opponents) competing unattached for Iowa. As a Hawkeye, Henson racked up titles at the Luther, Lindenwood and Cyclone Opens.
Following Saturday's intrasquad, Oklahoma will head north to begin its seasonĀ on Saturday, Nov. 5, at the Michigan State Open. The Sooners will return to Norman to face Little Rock in their home-openerĀ on Friday, Nov. 18.Ā
