OU Closes Fall at Ka'anapali Classic in Hawaii

NORMAN — Oklahoma's will close its fall schedule this weekend at the Ka'anapali Classic in Lahaina, Hawaii. The first round opens on Friday, Oct. 28 with teams playing 18 holes each day.
The event, which the Sooners won in 2019, is contested over 54 holes at the Royal Ka'anapali Classic in the traditional five-count-four format.
No. 2 Oklahoma highlights the 20-team field at one of America's marquee fall golf tournaments. The Sooners are joined by No. 17 Georgia and six other teams that received votes in the latest GCAA Poll.The Sooners have played the nation's ninth toughest schedule this season, and Ka'anapali will pit head coach Ryan Hybl's team against some of the best.
Last out on the course, Oklahoma was dominant at the Big 12 Match Play Championship, going 4-1 with a Big 12-record hole differential of +79, despite a runner-up finish to No. 1 Texas Tech.
The Oklahoma lineup in Hawaii features three-time All-American Patrick Welch, national All-Freshman selection Drew Goodman, Jaxon Dowell, Stephen Campbell Jr. and Jake Holbrook. True freshman Jase Summy and transfer Luke Kluver, who played at 2021 Ka'anapali Classic champion Kansas the previous three years, will play as individuals.

Oklahoma returns to the Aloha State for the first time since it won the Ka'anapali in 2019, behind a then school-record 805 (-47) 54-hole score. Quade Cummins carded a 193 (-20) in a runner-up finish, breaking Abraham Ancer's school record of 195 set in 2011.TEE TIMES AND PAIRINGS
