T&F Caps Day Two in Oregon

EUGENE, Ore. — Oklahoma's women's track and field teams concluded day two of the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Ore., on the campus of the University of Oregon, Thursday night.

Day two highlighted two All-America accolades from two Sooners.Ā 

Redshirt senior Sydney King closed her collegiate career with second team All-America honors in the women's pole vault. King, the Big 12 Outdoor champion in the pole vault, cleared a height of 13-3.5 (4.05m) to finish in a tie for 16th place. The redshirt senior from Dalhart, Texas holds the No. 4 spot on OU's all-time top-10 list.Ā 

Sophomore Payden Montana capped the night for OU with second team All-America honors in the women's shot put. Montana threw 54-0.5 (16.47m) to secure the final spot en route to becoming an All-American. The Sooner closes her season third on OU's all-time top-10 list.Ā 

On the track, junior Madison Langley-Walker completed her first of two events on the meet. Langley-Walker clocked 58.15 in the semifinals of the women's 400-meter hurdles. She will compete in the women's high jump on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. CT.Ā 

Junior Kennedy Blackmon closed out her season in the semifinals 200-meter dash after running as a leg of the 4x100-meter relay team. Blackmon clocked a 23.37 in the 200, concluding the season with the eighth spot on OU's all-time top-10 list.Ā 

The 4x100-relay squad, consisting of junior Deborah Giffard, senior Ja'Leesa Giles, senior Camri Austin and Blackmon, clocked a time of 44.74 on the race.Ā
