April 9-11 / 54 Holes / Bryan, Texas / Traditions Club / Live Scoring

BRYAN, Texas — No. 1/1 Oklahoma is set to close its regular season at the Aggie Invitational over the weekend. The Sooners moved back into the nation's top spot after their win at the Calusa Cup, where they won by eight strokes.

"Traditions is a golf course that will challenge you off the tee and make you have to be patient," head coach Ryan Hybl said after Thursday's practice round. "I would like to see our guys be able to handle that this week and give ourselves as many opportunities as we can to get on the putting surfaces."

The Aggie Invitational is a 54-hole event held at the par-72, 7,227-yard Traditions Club in Bryan, Texas, home of the Texas A&M Aggies and a 2021 NCAA Regional.

The field of 17 features four ranked teams, including Oklahoma and Big 12 rival No. 5 Texas. The Sooners have three team wins this season, and a fourth this weekend at the Aggie Invitational would give OU the second-most single-season wins in program history, trailing only the 2017-18 squad who won five times.

OU LINEUP

The Sooners' lineup reverts back to what it was for the middle three events of the spring, replacing Ben Lorenz with Haskins Watch List honoree Patrick Welch

Garett Reband, R-SR, York, S.C. - Fresh off Big 12 Golfer of the Month honors, Reband is set to continue his strong run in Bryan this weekend. He owns a win at the men's NIT earlier this spring and hasn't finished outside the top 15 at a 54-hole event in over two years. The redshirt senior jumped up to second in the latest PGA Tour U rankings after a stellar run this spring, and he has 24 top-20 finishes. Reband holds the Oklahoma scoring average record at 71.18 and is the only golfer in program history to have a negative score versus par (-0.32).

Quade Cummins, R-SR, Weatherford, Okla. - Cummins returned to form at the Calusa Cup, earning a T9 finish after three rounds of 72. He is ranked 10th in the PGA Tour U rankings and is set to make his 43rd appearance for the Crimson and Cream. The all-time rounds of par-or-better owner in Norman has accumulated 27 top-25 finishes as a Sooner. His 71.37 career scoring average is good for third in Oklahoma history.

Jonathan Brightwell, R-SR, Charlotte, N.C. - All-American Jonathan Brightwell makes his sixth lineup for Oklahoma since transferring last summer. In his most recent tournament, the NIT, the All-American fired three rounds in the 60s en route to a T4 finish. He's finished second for the Sooners in all three of his events this spring, grabbing three top 10s.

Logan McAllister, JR, Oklahoma City, Okla. - McAllister owns two career victories in just 14 events, in addition to pair of runner-up finishes this season, most recently at the Calusa Cup. The OKC product finished alone in second at the George Hannon in March, and his 2020-21 scoring average of 71.42 is the second-lowest among qualified players on the team.

Patrick Welch, JR, Aliso Viejo, Calif. - The Haskins Watch List spring honoree returns to the Oklahoma lineup after playing as an individual at the Calusa Cup (T20). The junior erupted onto the scene in 2020-21, finishing inside the top-25 five times this year, highlighted by a win at the East Lake Cup and five top-10 finishes in his last 11 tournaments.
