NORMAN - Ā The University of Oklahoma rowing team concluded its regular season in Austin, Texas on Saturday at the Longhorn Invitational on Walter E. Long Lake. Ā
The regatta was split into two sessions with morning heats used to determine placement in the finals. The second varsity four boat earned a fourth-place finish in the morning with a time of 8:03.8 to advance to the B final. The first varsity eight placed third in its heat to advance to the B final. The second varsity eight earned a third-place finish in its morning heat in a time 6:49.9. Wrapping up the morning heats was the first varsity four, placing third in the second heat in 8:09.8.Ā
In the finals, the 2V4 took third in a time of 8:21.4 behind SMU and Tulsa. The 1V8 placed third in its final with a time of 6:35.5, just five seconds behind first place Central Oklahoma.Ā
The 2V8 raced in the B Final against Notre Dame and Tulsa, placing third with a time of 6:56.6. In the final race of the morning, the 1V4 squad faced off against Tulsa and UCO, finishing in second place in the B Final in 7:49.8.
The Sooners will return to action on Sunday, May 16 at the Big 12 Championships in Austin, Texas.
