Sooners Close Out Regular Season in Austin

NORMAN - The University of Oklahoma rowing team concluded its regular season in Austin, Texas on Saturday at the Longhorn Invitational on Walter E. Long Lake.
The regatta was split into two sessions with morning heats used to determine placement in the finals. The second varsity four boat earned a fourth-place finish in the morning with a time of 8:03.8 to advance to the B final. The first varsity eight placed third in its heat to advance to the B final. The second varsity eight earned a third-place finish in its morning heat in a time 6:49.9. Wrapping up the morning heats was the first varsity four, placing third in the second heat in 8:09.8.
In the finals, the 2V4 took third in a time of 8:21.4 behind SMU and Tulsa. The 1V8 placed third in its final with a time of 6:35.5, just five seconds behind first place Central Oklahoma.
The 2V8 raced in the B Final against Notre Dame and Tulsa, placing third with a time of 6:56.6. In the final race of the morning, the 1V4 squad faced off against Tulsa and UCO, finishing in second place in the B Final in 7:49.8.
The Sooners will return to action on Sunday, May 16 at the Big 12 Championships in Austin, Texas.
