NORMAN -Ā The Oklahoma rowing team competed in its first road event of 2021 on Saturday, facing Clemson and North Carolina at Lake Hartwell in South Carolina.
The Sooners raced three boats and claimed second place in two races.
In OU's first race of the day, the Sooners' 1V4 boat finished in 8:28.90, taking third.
OU's 2V8 crossed the finish line 7:21.90 to take second place behind Clemson's 7:12.50.
Oklahoma closed the morning in the 1V8 with a second-place finish, crossing in 7:01.60 - four seconds behind first-place Clemson.
The Sooners return to action next weekend when they head to Austin for the Longhorn Invitational.
