TUCSON, Ariz. — No. 1/2 Oklahoma heads out west to Tucson, Ariz., this weekend for the N.I.T. at Omni Tucson National, a 54-hole event played over two days at the par-72, 7,167-yard Catalina Course at Omni Tucson National.

The Sooners enter the N.I.T. on a hot streak after opening their spring with a third-place, first-place and runner-up finish at different spring events. Most recently, head coach Ryan Hybl's team finish second at the George Hannon Collegiate in Austin, Texas, where four Sooner golfers finished inside the top 20. Oklahoma hasn't finished outside of the top-five this season.

"It's great to be out in Arizona and get our feet wet in the desert as we hope to be here in late May for the championship," Hybl said. "Our guys are feeling good and are ready to get after it this weekend."

The full field of 18 features eight teams inside Golfstat's top 35, in addition to half of the PGA Tour U's top 10, two of which are Sooners.

OU LINEUP

The Sooners' lineup remains the same for the third-straight tournament and features five golfers that have accumulated 81 top-20 finishes, along with 52 top 10s.

All-American Garett Reband grabs the first bag for the Sooner after a runner-up finish at the Cabo Collegiate and T14 finish in Austin. The redshirt senior jumped up to sixth in the latest PGA Tour U rankings after a stellar start to the spring season. He has amassed 22 top-20 finishes and has finished inside the top 15 at his last nine events, marking the most successful stretch of his career.

Logan McAllister, ranked 38th nationally, is the two-bag for the Sooners this weekend after finishing as runner-up at the George Hannon. In just 13 collegiate events, the Oklahoma City product has produced a pair of wins and seven top 20s.

Patrick Welch, the fifth-ranked golfer in the nation and Haskins Award watch list honoree, will grab the third bag for the Sooners. The junior erupted onto the scene in 2020-21, finishing inside the top-25 at every event this season except one, highlighted by a win at the East Lake Cup and five top-10 finishes in his last eight tournaments.

All-American Jonathan Brightwell will be Hybl's fourth bag this weekend. Fresh off a T9 finish in Austin, the No. 25 player in the nation is seeking his 22nd top-20 finish.

Quade Cummins is the fifth golfer in the OU lineup after a T18 finish at the George Hannon. The redshirt senior needs two rounds of par-or-better to break Grant Hirschman's program record of 76.

Redshirt senior Thomas Johnson and freshman Ben Lorenz are set to compete as individuals for the Sooners. For Johnson, it's his 19th appearance as a Sooner and third of the spring. He finished as the leading, unattached golfer at the George Hannon last week.

Lorenz, who would be ranked second nationally in the Golfweek/Sagarin rankings if he met the minimum rounds threshold, appears for a third time.
