Both duals will be streamed live on Flo Wrestling on a subscription basis.Ā

SOONER SUMMARY

Rosselli's squad returns all but one wrestler who saw action in 2019-20, featuring a lineup that showcases six NCAA qualifiers, two All-Americans and a pair of UWW/U23 national champions. The Sooners added 2019 ACC Freshman of the Year Mitch Moore to the roster via transfer from Virginia Tech. Moore is a two-time NCAA qualifier at 141 pounds and will compete for the Sooners at 149 pounds.

LAST TIME OUT

The Sooners opened Big 12-action with a 21-9 dual victory over West Virginia in Morgantown on Jan. 17. While at WVU, Oklahoma also defeated EIWA's Bucknell, 29-9. Mitch Moore and Josh Heindselman both won matches via fall vs. the Bison, and 125-pounder Mason Naifeh picked up his first OU win when he beat WVU's No. 17 Killian Cardinale.Ā

Dom Demas, Moore and Justin Thomas all improved to 3-0 on the season with victories in their bouts with WVU and Bucknell.Ā With the team win over WVU, the Sooners opened conference play with a win for the first time since 2016.Ā

LOOKING BACK

The Sooners qualified six for the 2019 NCAA Championship, which was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The team has six returning qualifiers: Tony Madrigal (133), Dom Demas (141), Mitch Moore (149) via transfer, Justin Thomas (157), Anthony Mantanona (174) and Jake Woodley (197). Demas and Mantanona both finished as runners-up at the Big 12 Championships and earned All-American honors, bringing Oklahoma's All-American total to 276 all-time.Ā

The team finished with a 5-7 record in dual action, but finished the year strong winning two of its final three duals and finished in sixth at Big 12s after tallying 83 team points, five more than in 2019.Ā

SOONERS IN THE RANKINGS

Oklahoma is ranked by every major poll after two weeks of the season. The NWCA Coaches Poll tabs the Sooners at No. 18, Flo at No. 17, Intermat 16th and Track Wrestling at No. 23.Ā

The three primary individual rankings selected a host of Sooners to place inside the top 25. FloWrestling and Intermat both tab six Sooners as top-25 wrestlers in their respective weight class, while Track Wrestle ranks eight of the Sooners' 10 starters inside the top 33.

DOM-INATING DEMAS

Dom Demas has opened the 2021 season on a 3-0 tear, outscoring his opponents 26-9. The 141-pounder's domination stretches back to last season as he has won 15 of his last 16 bouts, with the only loss coming vs. Iowa State's Ian Parker in the 2020 Big 12 final.Ā

THE MOORE, THE BETTER

Mitch Moore owns a career record of 39-18 and is 3-0 as an Oklahoma Sooner. The junior has won 17 of his matches via fall, meaning that he pins his opponent nearly 30 percent of the time he steps on the mat.Ā Dating back to the beginning of his sophomore season at Virginia Tech, Moore has outscored his opponents 56-12.

SCOUTING THE CYCLONES

Iowa State enters Sunday's dual ranked No. 13/11 by NWCA and Flo after starting the year 3-1, but 0-1 in Division I competition after falling to No. 9 Missouri 31-9 on Jan. 17. The Cyclones went 10-5 last season and 7-1 in conference play, and have seven wrestlers ranked in the latest Flo Wrestling rankings.

Under head coach Kevin Dresser they finished as Big 12 runners-up in 2020.

SCOUTING THE PANTHERS

UNI is ranked No. 19/NR in the most recent NWCA and Flo polls. The Panthers opened their season with a pair of conference wins over South Dakota State (28-13) and North Dakota State (27-11) but fell to No. 9 Missouri 34-6 on Jan. 17.

The Panthers boast a trio of ranked wrestlers and are led by long-time head coach Doug Schwab, who fell to Oklahoma assistant coach Mike Lightner in the 2001 NCAA Final.
