NORMAN — The University of Oklahoma men's and women's track and field teams are set to host the 19^th annual J.D. Martin Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 8, at Mosier Indoor Facility on the OU campus in Norman, Okla.

"We are excited to finally be home," said OU interim head coach Tim Langford. "It gives the seniors their indoor farewell. This is one of two opportunities we can tell people to come see us run and compete."

The meet is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. CT with women's weight throw and long jump, before running events get going at noon. The meet will be on a rolling schedule throughout the day. Admission is free to fans and complimentary posters and stickers will be available for those in attendance.

"We are going to create a lot of energy in terms of handing out prizes and doing different races," said Langford.

The Sooners will be presenting the Owen Hewitt Award to their two recipients during the officials break. Hewitt served OU as a student manager and has shown great dedication to the track and field program since his time on campus. This year will mark the 30^th anniversary of the award. In addition to the Owen Hewitt Award, the J.D. Martin Sooner Service Award will be presented. This award honors those, both past and present, who have provided the student-athletes an atmosphere in which they can perform at the highest levels.

At last weekends Razorback Invitational, OU notched a first-place finish from redshirt senior Meia Gordon. Gordon took the crown in the women's shot put, throwing 53-4.25 (16.26m). Throughout the two-day meet, the Sooners recorded several personal bests, in addition to adding redshirt sophomore Jelaani Davis to OU's all-time performance list following his triple jump mark of 51-10 (15.80m).
