PALM SPRINGS, Calif. – The No. 3/3 Oklahoma softball team (11-3) dropped its final game at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic on Sunday to Wisconsin, 4-3.

The Badgers (8-6) took an early 4-0 lead in the second inning courtesy of an eventful frame that featured scoring plays on a squeeze bunt, error, hit-by-pitch and bases-loaded walk. The Sooners rallied in the third inning with three runs via RBI singles from junior Jocelyn Alo and freshman Kinzie Hansen.

No more runs were scored following the third and the Badgers, who received votes in this week's USA Today/NFCA Top 25 Poll, claimed their eighth win of the season and first over a top-five opponent after close battles on the weekend with No. 1 UCLA (3-1) and No. 2 Washington (5-3).

Hansen led the Sooners at the plate with a 2-for-3, one-RBI performance. It marked her team-leading seventh game of the season with two-plus hits.

Senior Shannon Saile took the loss in the circle for OU, giving up three earned runs on three hits while walking eight and striking out seven in 4.0 innings of work. Freshman Olivia Rains threw 3.0 innings of perfect relief, striking out two.

The Sooners return to action next weekend in Norman at their home-opening Courtyard Marriott Tournament on Marita Hynes Field. OU will face Northwestern, Abilene Christian and North Texas.
