OU Heads West for The Goodwin

NORMAN – The No. 4 Oklahoma men's golf team travels to Stanford, Calif. to defend its tournament title this week at The Goodwin. The three-day, 54-hole tournament will take place Thursday through Saturday (March 28-30) at the par-70, 6,758-yard Stanford Golf Course.  

The 26-team field features 13 top-50 teams in the latest Golfweek/Sagarin top 50 and five in the top 25. OU enters the event ranked No. 4 in the latest rankings release by Golfweek/Sagarin.

The Sooners are coming off a third-place finish at the National Invitational Tournament in Tucson, Ariz.. OU fired an 836 (-28) to earn its sixth top-three finish of the year as two Sooners claimed top-10 finishes. Garrett Reband led the way for OU, finishing in seventh place at 208 (-8) followed by Quade Cummins, who finished tied for ninth with a 54-hole score of 209 (-7).

OU's lineup for The Goodwin will feature Cummins, Reband, freshman Patrick Welch, redshirt junior Thomas Johnson and senior Brad Dalke. Dalke is coming off a third-place finish after competing as an individual at the Sonoran Showdown, recording a 200 (-10) at the event.

The Sooners won The Goodwin last year with a 54-hole score of 828 (-24). Dalke shot a six-under 207 to finish in a tie for fifth.

THE COURSE
The par-70, 6,758-yard Stanford Golf Course serves as the site for The Goodwin, hosted by Stanford University.

FORMAT
The three-day, 54-hole tournament will be played at the Stanford Golf Course. The Sooners will tee off from hole No. 1 at 2:55 p.m. CT on Thursday. OU is paired with Stanford and USC for the first round.

OU'S HISTORY AT THE GOODWIN
This marks the Sooners' second appearance in the tournament. The Sooners' won the tournament in 2018 with a three-day 828 (-24).
