Cummins Named Big 12 Golfer of the Month

NORMAN — Oklahoma senior Quade Cummins was named the Big 12 Golfer of the Month for November, the conference office announced on Tuesday.

Cummins led the Sooners to a tournament win at the Ka'anapali Classic in Lahaina, Hawai'i, in the team's only tournament during November. The senior opened Sunday's final round with seven straight birdies on his way to shoot a 20-under 193 and set the Oklahoma 54-hole record. He competed in a seven-hole playoff to finish second place at the event.

OU carded a 263 (-21) during the final round, the lowest round in school history. Cummins posted a final round 62 (-9) at the Ka'anapali Classic, the best round of his collegiate career.

Cummins also competed in the Marathon Sun Bowl All-America Classic on Nov. 24, his second straight appearance in the prestigious event. The Weatherford, Okla., native posted a 213 (E) to finish tied for 26th.

The Sooners open their spring schedule on Feb. 16-18 at the Puerto Rico Classic in Rio Mar, P.R.
