NORMAN — The University of Oklahoma rowing team continued its fall season on Sunday in Boston at the Head of the Charles and Lawrence, Kan., at the Jayhawk Jamboree.

At the prestigious Head of the Charles regatta, OU had a strong showing from its varsity four boat (4: Rachel Williams, 3: Annika Smith, 2: Sadie Pilz, 1: Natasa Ilic, C: Katherine Denney), taking seventh place amongst a strong field of competitors. The Sooner boat crossed the line in 18:18.897 to place seventh out of 15 boats. The margin between first and seventh place was just 45 seconds.

In the women's Championship Eights competition at the Charles, OU's varsity eight boat placed 28th overall and 22nd out of collegiate competition, finishing in 16:46.051.

In Lawrence at the Jayhawk Jamboree, Sooners took part in novice and varsity 8+ racing. In the novice eight action, OU's boats placed fifth through eighth. OU B led the way in fifth in 15:20.7, OU A finished in 16:04.2 to take sixth, OU D (16:15.6) came in seventh, while OU C (16:25.3) took eighth.

OU's varsity eight that went to Lawrence placed sixth in the collegiate 8+ racing, finishing in 12:58.5, less than one second out of a top-five finish.
