NORMAN  Former Sooner standouts Max McGreevy and Luke Kwon secured their Korn Ferry Tour cards for the upcoming season by finishing in the top five Order of Merit on the PGA Tour China-Series this weekend.

McGreevy finished on top of the Order of Merit with $974,153 in earnings. Kwon rounded out the top five with $668,359 in earnings.

"I'm super proud of our guys when they get committed to their profession like Max McGreevy and Luke Kwon have done," head coach Ryan Hybl said. "To go over to China and earn your way onto the Korn Ferry tour is quite the accomplishment and I couldn't be more excited for them."

McGreevy, a member of OU's 2017 NCAA Championship team, also claimed the Player of the Year honors for the PGA Tour China-Series. The Edmond, Okla., native has not dropped out of the top five on Order of Merit since the first week of the season. Since then he has earned nine top-10 finishes in 13 events including a victory at the Guangzhou Championship.

McGreevy led the tour with 271 birdies and had 13 consecutive rounds under-par at one point during the season.

Kwon has not left the top four on Order of Merit since his win at the Qinhuangdao Championship. The South Korean collected six top-10 finishes, wrapping up the season tying for fifth at the Macau Championship.

The Sooner duo joins Charlie Saxon as PGA Tour-China Series winners. Saxon took home his victory in 2016.
