OU Ready for Big 12 Championship

NORMAN – The Oklahoma rowing team begins its postseason this weekend at the 2018 Big 12 Rowing Championship in Oak Ridge, Tenn. The regatta will be held at Melton Hill Lake.

OU will be joined at the conference championship by No. 3 Texas, Alabama, Kansas, Kansas State, Old Dominion, Tennessee and West Virginia. Each team's 1V8, 2V8, 3V8, 1V4 and 2V4 will compete in one of two heats on Saturday to qualify for either the grand or petite finals on Sunday. Racing starts at 1 p.m. on Saturday.

All of the Sooners' boats will compete in the second heat of their respective matchups. A full heat sheet for Saturday can be found here. Each race counts toward the Big 12 team title while only the 1V8, 2V8 and 1V4 count toward the NCAA automatic-qualifying bid.

OU is looking for its third Big 12 Championship in just its 10th year of competition. Its last title came in 2014.
