Rowing Lands 25 on Academic All-Big 12 Team

NORMAN – The Oklahoma rowing team landed 25 student-athletes on the 2018 Academic All-Big 12 Team, the conference announced Thursday.

Twenty-two Sooners earned first-team honors while three were named to the second team. First team members consist of student-athletes who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA while the second team selections hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.

Seniors Rubie Hays and Louise Kuehster, and sophomores Amy Pasque and Rachel Williams headline the OU selections, each earning a 4.00 GPA.

To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 60 percent of their team's scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.

The Sooners begin their postseason Saturday and Sunday May 12-13 at the 2018 Big 12 Championship in Oak Ridge, Tenn.
