NORMAN — University of Oklahoma men's golf rising junior Brad Dalke is set to compete in the 117th U.S. Open Championship this week. The prestigious event is scheduled for June 15-18 (Thursday-Sunday) at the par-72, 7,741-yard Erin Hills in Erin, Wis.

“I talked to Brad last night, and he loves the course and is feeling great, so I would expect him to play well this week,” OU head coach Ryan Hybl said. “The U.S. Open is one of the toughest events you can play in, and Brad is a player and will have a great week.”

Dalke will tee off at 1:14 p.m. CT on Thursday and 7:29 a.m. CT on Friday. The Sooner will be paired with Wesley Bryan and Brendan Steele for the first two rounds. The field will be cut after the second round, and the third and fourth rounds will take place on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

The Norman, Okla., native earned his invite to the U.S. Open by way of a runner-up finish at the 2016 U.S. Amateur. Dalke's appearance marks his third time competing as an amateur in a professional event, as he also played in The 2017 Masters and the 2016 Valero Texas Open. Dalke is one of 14 amateurs at this year's U.S. Open.

The Sooner enters the tournament fresh off helping his team secure the 2017 NCAA championship. Dalke went 2-1 in match play, including winning the title-clinching match with a 2 and 1 victory in the championship round. Additionally, Dalke earned the first individual title of his career at the NCAA Stanford Regional to lead the Sooners to the national tournament.

The U.S. Open will be televised on FS1 and FOX throughout the weekend. A full broadcast schedule, additional live streaming and scoring and more information about the event can be found here.
