NORMAN — The No. 12 Oklahoma men's golf team sits in fourth place after the first 18 holes of the 2017 Big 12 Championship. The three-day, 72-hole tournament is being held at the par-70, 6,940-yard Prairie Dunes Country Club in Hutchinson, Kan.

The second round of the tournament was scheduled for Monday afternoon but was postponed until Tuesday due to high winds. Thirty-six holes will now be contested on the second day of the championship.

“It was probably the toughest day of golf I have ever been around,” OU head coach Ryan Hybl said. “Really, really difficult conditions. Brad (Dalke) and Rylee (Reinertson) both had nice rounds, and our other guys hung in. We will have 36 tomorrow, and we will have opportunities in front of us if we execute.”

The Sooners shot a 308 (+28) against gusting winds in the first round and are six strokes back from No. 5 Oklahoma State, who leads the 10-team field. No. 37 Kansas is in second place with a 306 (+26), and No. 4 Baylor is in third at 307 (+27). No. 15 Texas Tech rounds out the top five at 309 (+29).

Sophomore Brad Dalke paces OU after the first 18 holes. The Norman, Okla., native fired a 73 (+3) on the day and holds a share of second place, just one stroke behind the current individual leader.

Also currently in the top 10 for the Sooners is junior Rylee Reinertson. He is tied for sixth place after carding a 75 (+5) on Monday.

Senior Max McGreevy holds a piece of 22nd place. McGreevy recorded a 79 (+9) in the first round.

Junior Grant Hirschman is in a tie for 33rd with an opening-round 81 (+11), and sophomore Blaine Hale is one stroke behind Hirschman and with a share of 38th place.

The second and third rounds of the Big 12 Championship are scheduled for Tuesday. The Sooners will begin the second round at 8:45 a.m. CT, and the third round will follow that afternoon. Live scoring will be available on Big12Sports.com and GolfStat.com
