NORMAN – University of Oklahoma golfer Brad Dalke will represent the United States when he competes in the 2016 World Amateur Team Championships on Sept. 21-24. The competition will take place at the par-71, 6,988-yard Mayakoba El Camaleón Golf Club and the par-72, 6,771-yard Iberostar Playa Paraiso Golf Club in Riviera Maya, Mexico.

Dalke, a sophomore at OU, joins Stanford senior Maverick McNealy and University of Texas junior Scottie Scheffler to constitute Team USA.

“We are excited and proud for Brad this week,” OU head coach Ryan Hybl said. “What a tremendous honor it is for him to represent our country, and I know he will do great.”

The event, conducted by the International Golf Federation and hosted by the Mexican Golf Federation, is held every two years and will feature over 70 teams from across the globe competing for the Eisenhower Trophy.

Each team will play with two or three golfers, who will all golf 18 holes over four days. In each round, the total of the two lowest scores from each team makes up the team score for the round. The team with the lowest total score after 72 holes takes the title.

Dalke will tee off at 8:25 a.m. CT from hole No. 1 on the Mayakoba El Camaleón Golf Club course, and he will be paired with golfers representing Mexico and Italy. Scoring will be available on the International Golf Federation's website
