Sooners Complete Two Rounds in Texas

NORMAN – After the first 36 holes of the Aggie Invitational, the No. 14 Oklahoma men's golf team is in a tie for eighth place with an overall 598 (+22). The two-day, 54-hole tournament is being played at the par-72, 7,146-yard Traditions Club.
The Sooners improved throughout the day, firing a 302 (+14) in the first round and a 296 (+8) in the second.
The second round, which began Saturday afternoon, was suspended due to darkness, and six teams did not complete the round. No. 8 Oklahoma State, which will complete the second round Sunday morning, leads the 15-team field at 2 under par. North Texas is in second with a 580 (+4), No. 17 LSU holds third with a 585 (+9) and in fourth is No. 24 Arkansas with a 587 (+11). Rounding out the top five is No. 31 Baylor with a two-round 589 (+13).
Blaine Hale leads the Sooners with a two-round 147 (+3), putting him a tie for 19th place. The freshman shot a 75 (+3) in the first round, collecting an eagle on hole No. 5 and shooting every hole on the back nine at par. He then pocketed three birdies in the second en route to a 72 (E).
Junior Max McGreevy is in a tie for 26th with a 149 (+5). He carded a 71 (-1) in the first round with a birdie and an eagle but struggled in the second, totaling a 78 (+6).
Sophomore Grant Hirschman shot a 150 (+6) Saturday and has a share of 34th place after recording a 77 (+5) in the first round and a 73 (+1) in the second. Also firing a 73 (+1) in the second round was freshman Brad Dalke, whose 79 (+7) in the first round brought his total to 152 (+8) and put him a tie for 42nd.
Senior Luke Kwon holds a share of 69th place with a 160 (+16) after totaling an 81 (+9) and a 79 (+7). Classmate Beau Titsworth, who is competing as an individual and is unattached from team scoring, is in a tie for 54th with an overall 154 (+10), shooting a 78 (+6) in the first and a 76 (+4) in the second.
“We were not very good today, and our guys got on some really bad runs that we cannot afford to have at this level,” OU head coach Ryan Hybl said. “Tomorrow will be better.”
