Sooners Head to Aggie Invitational
April 01, 2016 | Men's Golf
NORMAN — The No. 14 Oklahoma men's golf team is back in action this weekend in Bryan, Texas, at the Aggie Invitational. The two-day, 54-hole tournament will take place Saturday-Sunday (April 2-3) at the par-72, 7,146-yard Traditions Club.
“We are coming down to defend our title from last year, and you don't get very many opportunities to do that,” OU head coach Ryan Hybl said. “Our guys are looking forward to getting back in a tournament after a nice break. This golf course is a great test and we will be looking for that opportunity to compete and have a chance to win this week.”
The 15-team field includes seven teams ranked in the top 40 of the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings, four of which are in the Big 12, including OU.
The Sooners are returning to competition after taking third at the Southern Highlands Collegiate, which featured one of the best fields in college golf. Junior Max McGreevy and senior Luke Kwon both finished in the top 10 of the prestigious event, claiming ties for third and eighth, respectively.
OU's lineup for the Aggie Invitational will consist of Kwon, McGreevy, sophomore Grant Hirschman and freshmen Brad Dalke and Blaine Hale. Senior Beau Titsworth will compete as an individual and be unattached from team scoring.
