Novice Team to Race in Head of the Colorado

NORMAN – The OU women's rowing novice team will complete their fall season this Saturday, Oct. 29, in Austin, Texas, at the 33rd annual Head of the Colorado (Pumpkin Head).
The novice squad will race six boats in three events on the 5,000-meter course, including three fours in the Women's Novice 4+, two boats in the Women's Second Novice 8+ and one boat in the Women's Novice 8+.
“The Head of the Colorado wraps up the fall season for the novice team, and I am encouraged by the progress the team has made these past few months, so this should be a fun weekend,” OU novice coach Katy Stine said. “It will be a great springboard into winter training and looking further ahead to the spring championship season when these novices will join the varsity squad.”
Hosted by the Austin Rowing Club, the Head of the Colorado is held annually on the last Saturday of October. Over 500 boats will compete in this year's regatta.
