NORMAN – After two rounds at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate, the No. 8 Oklahoma men's golf team sits atop the leaderboard. The three-day, 54-hole tournament is taking place at the Golf Club of Georgia in Alpharetta, Ga., and the Sooners played the par-72, 7,017-yard Lakeside Course on Saturday.

The Sooners started the day in first place and tallied a 3-over-par 291 in the second round to retain their lead against one of the most competitive fields of the fall season, bringing their 36-hole total to 574 (-2).

No. 21 Texas A&M and No. 7 Virginia are tied for second place, two strokes behind the Sooners with even-par 576s, while No. 26 Duke and No. 19 USC share fourth with scores of 578 (+2).

"Today wasn't our best as a team, but we put ourselves with a great opportunity for tomorrow," OU head coach Ryan Hybl said. "Max (McGreevy) played another great round today, and we need to get everyone going tomorrow in order to win this thing."

Senior Max McGreevy recorded his second under-par round of the tournament, pocketing five birdies and shooting a 69 (-3) on Saturday. The Edmond, Okla., native sits in second place individually with a 7-under-par 137, just two strokes off leader Jimmy Stanger from Virginia. The round represents the 27th in the 60s of McGreevy's career.

Also sitting within the top 20 are sophomores Blaine Hale and Brad Dalke, who are tied for 14th and 17th place, respectively. Hale, who recorded four birdies on Saturday, finished at even par for the round and has scored a 143 (-1) for the tournament. Dalke shot a second-round 73 (+1) and is 1 over par in the event.

Juniors Grant Hirschman and Rylee Reinertson both shot 5-over-par 77s in the second round. Hirschman holds a share of 50th place with a two-round 149 (+5), while Reinertson is tied for 75th place with a 155 (+11).

The final round of the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate is scheduled for Sunday. All teams will play the Lakeside Course, with the Sooners' tee times starting at 11:25 a.m. CT. Live scoring will be available on GolfStat.com.
